Ironhide Construction is the general contractor for the City of Lincoln’s permanent househould hazardous materials collection center in Lincoln, Nebraska. The 7,500 SF facility was built from the ground up and includes office space, bathrooms with showers, storage, a large dock, and special blasting room with rebar installed every 16 inches.
As the general contractor, Ironhide started from the initial survey and dirt work of the area all the way to the final finishing details like paint and restroom accessories. This important city project required working with winter, as well as building on an existing dump site. Ironhide had to excavate 6′ below ground level and refill the hole with good dirt for the building pad.
Ironhide supplied and erected a pre-engineered metal building from Chief Buildings for the Collection Center. In addition to managing over 20 subcontractors that contributed to the project, Ironhide Construction was in close communication with city officials and the design team weekly.
